‘These are the most hydrating, nourishing, and soothing lip balms on our shelves (and your desks, bedside tables, bags and pockets) right now,’ the store’s team said on their website.

So what are the three products you need to invest in and why?

‘A classic throw-in-your-bag product, this vitamin E, jojoba and beeswax lip balm is… the blue jeans of lip balms and a reliable lip soother,’ the Mecca team wrote.

The $10 product boasts a 4.4 star rating on the Mecca website, where more than 100 women have attested to its qualities.

‘Loved this! And it worked especially well with the eczema on my lips,’ one woman wrote.

Another added: ‘This is the best lip balm I’ve ever used. Left my lips very soft.’

The product comes in non-descript Mario Badescu packaging, but delivers on ingredients including jojoba, nourishing vitamin E and beeswax.

‘Replenishing squalane rises to the occasion alongside aloe vera and vitamin E, working together to give dry, chapped or cracked lips a new lease on life, instantly,’ the Mecca team explained.

Like the Mario Badescu, the Kiehl’s balm has an impressive 4.4 star rating online, where it has alternatively been described as ‘miracle’ and a ‘godsend’.

‘This has become my favourite lip balm!’ one woman wrote.

‘Firstly it smells amazing, but it actually works in fixing dry chapped lips. My lips have become softer by using this and they aren’t reliant on continually topping up. It has definitely become a holy grail for me.’

The most expensive lip balm on the list, the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm , $35, is a staple in many a celebrity's beauty bag (pictured in use)
