When looking for a new home, understanding and researching the lifestyle typical to those living in a particular suburb is crucial.
If this step isn’t taken, many people move into their dream house only to discover the suburb they’re in clashes with their way of living.
So to help people avoid this, Rent.com.au gathered review data from more than 50,000 residents across Australia to determine the most ‘liveable’ suburbs for singles and families.
They also ranked the top 10 suburbs in order of quietness and vibrancy.
In New South Wales, the suburbs ranked best for families were Wahroonga, Katoomba, Bella Vista, Blayney and Glen Alpine respectively
BEST SUBURBS FOR FAMILIES
In New South Wales, the suburbs ranked best for families were Wahroonga, Katoomba, Bella Vista, Blayney and Glen Alpine respectively.
Residents of Wahroonga, on the North Shore of Sydney, praised its ‘broad range of amenities and leafy outlook’ as well as its ‘beautiful parklands’.
Other suburbs voted most family friendly included Aberfeldie, Victoria, Mansfield, Queensland, Madeley, Western Australia, Hectorville, South Australia and Rokeby, Tasmania.
Giralang was voted the most suitable for families in the Australian Capital Territory.

BEST SUBURBS FOR SINGLES
In New South Wales, the top five suburbs for singles were Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, Chippendale, Bondi Junction and Newtown.
The top suburb for Victoria was Collingwood followed by Abbotsford while the two suburbs deemed most suitable for singles in Queensland were Fortitude Valley and Cairns City.
Other suburbs included Northbridge, Western Australia, North Adelaide, South Australia, North Hobart, Tasmania, Darwin City in the Northern Territory and Acton in the Australian Capital Territory.

In New South Wales, the suburb voted best for quietness was Marayong, which is located 38 kilometres west of Sydney.
Carlton and Shortland also made the list for New South Wales along with Kialla and Eltham in Victoria.
Redlynch, Queensland, Southern River, Western Australia, Happy Valley, South Australia, Midway Point, Tasmania and Humpty Doo, Northern Territory also made the list.

BEST SUBURBS FOR VIBRANCY
It’s no surprise that the top five most vibrant suburbs in New South Wales were Potts Point, Haymarket, Bondi Beach, Newtown and Surry Hills.
For Victoria, however, the top vibrant suburb was Fitzroy.
The bohemian suburb is known to attract a diverse and artsy community to its hubs and public gardens, its café culture reigns supreme and it is a beacon for independent renters seeking a dash of bohemia mixed with beer halls.
Windsor and Collingwood also made the list for Victoria and other suburbs across the country included Fortitude Valley, Queensland, Northbridge, Western Australia, Torrensville, South Australia, Moonah, Tasmania, Darwin City, Northern Territory and Kingston in the ACT.
