The top makeup products in Australia revealed at the Best in Beauty 2018 Awards 

With a bevy of beauty products on the market it can be difficult to know which ones are the best.

Luckily Australian reviews site, Beauty Heaven, has revealed the results from the inaugural 2018 Best in Beauty Awards.

With reviews from makeup fans the results have shown the most popular products on the market – and some are cheaper than you might expect.

There are hundreds of highly pigmented hues and a choice of finish to choose from, including Matte, Satin, Lustre, Amplified, Frost, Cremesheen and Retro Matte.

92 per cent of reviewers rated it four or five stars.

M.A.C Lip Pencil has a smooth, creamy texture and is designed for shaping, lining or filling in lips and the long-lasting formula contains vitamin E to protect lips and colour. 

86 per cent of reviewers rated this product four or five stars, with many calling the product ‘versatile’.

This being said, one reviewer said there were other options out there: ‘M.A.C liners aren’t the cheapest, and in my opinion are probably only worth their cost due to the extensive colour range.

‘I definitely think there are comparable drug store lip liners (e.g. Rimmel and Maybelline) that perform just as well.’

The Maybelline product is a mattifying foundation that reduces the appearance of pores, controls excess shine and has hundreds of positive reviews.

79 per cent of reviewers rated the product with four or five stars. 

‘The formula features micro-powders to absorb oil and blur technology for an airbrushed finish,’ it states on the website.

The foundation has been designed to be suitable for normal to oily skin and has 14 shades to choose from.

Reviewers said that due to the multiple colour options it’s easy to find one that works for an individual’s skin.  

‘The colour selection is fantastic and I had no problem in finding my perfect shade,’ one reviewer said.

It’s described as a product that provides ’36 hour volume without weighing down the lashes’ and 84 per cent of reviewers rating the product four or five stars.

There is an overwhelming amount of positive reviews online with one woman calling it the ‘best mascara ever’ on Beauty Heaven.

‘This mascara is worth the high price tag of $42! … When applied my lashes instantly look two times longer, curled and a lot thicker. I just can’t stop applying this to my lashes and love how it makes them look,’ she wrote.

Like their lipstick, the M.A.C Powder Blush comes in a variety of finishes: frost, matte, satin, sheertone and sheertone shimmer.

It is available in 20 different shades which means people can use them for different looks on their cheeks and face.

Almost everyone who has bought it has been won over by it as 95 per cent of people have rated it four or five stars.

‘I have been using MAC powder blush for 15 years, I love it and won’t ever change!’ Someone said.

This product from Maybelline is an accurate liquid liner with the point measuring 0.05mm.

‘The calligraphy-inspired eyeliner contains super-saturated pigments to provide great intensity for eye design that is ultra-defined,’ the website states.

‘This eyeliner is the best liquid pen eyeliner in the drugstore. It had a brush tip that doesn’t break easily and the pigment does not dry out fast,’ a person said.

‘MAC eyeshadows are some of the best I’ve come across and they can be used wet or dry,’ one happy customer said.

Many people online have said the pots have amazing pigmentation, are creamy and long lasting.

Although they’re small customers have said it lasts a long time as a little goes a long way.
