The Traitors latest episode becomes the most watched EVER with 3.8 MILLION viewers – even beating the opening night

The BBC scored a win with The Traitors on Wednesday night as it became the most watched episode ever.

3.8million viewers tuned in to watch the Traitors turn on Ash, 45, who was ‘completely blindsided’ when Harry and Paul voted her out.

Ratings from Super TV revealed the 4th episode was up 1.5 million viewers from series one and had a 25% share.

The fourth episode was also an increase from The Traitors’ series two launch which pulled in an impressive 3.1million viewers.

It was a significant increase on the numbers watching last year’s opening episode, which hit 2.9million viewers.

Ash was banished from the game in the explosive episode which also saw Faithful Brian, 33, voted out.

Saying goodbye to the remaining contestants, she said: ‘I want to say you are an absolutely magnificent group of people. It’s been an honour and a privilege.’

Viewers will have to wait until the next episode to see the reaction of the other cast members to her exit.

Ash’s banishment came after she confronted Paul and Henry for turning on her in front of the Faithfuls.

The events coordinator told them she was ‘very f*****g p****d off’ as she faced them at midnight to ‘condemn’ four people in the dungeon.

Ash broke down in tears by the betrayal.

She said: ‘I’m completely blindsided at this point and very, very shocked that Paul and Harry voted for me. They are really going to play dirty.’

One wrote: ‘Paul and Harry were entirely justified in voting for Ash. She’s made it entirely obvious she’s a traitor.’

Others said: ‘What’s the betting Ash tries to banish the other Traitors’ and ‘Is Ash going to turn up in the Traitor’s Tower holding a dagger?’

‘It’s going to be a tricky one for the Traitors now though. Ash is going to be mad’.

The Traitors continues on BBC One at 9pm on Thursday.
