Yet student Alyssa Chan was worlds away from the sinister game on Thursday as she took to Instagram to share a smouldering selfie while posing in a bikini.
While holidaying in Malaga, she revealed she was putting off working on her dissertation to instead snap selfies, while sporting a black bikini with an orange towelling bucket cap and delicate gold necklace.
After appearing on the show last year, she divulged behind the scenes secrets of the nail-biting psychological reality competition where 22 strangers play a game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning up to £120k.
The highlights of her insights included the fact that the contestants were kept to a two drink minimum when they mingled in the Scottish castle where filming took place and also that host Claudia Winkleman wrote the players individual letters.

Alyssa posed up a storm in the sizzling bikini and showed off her edgy sense of style by pairing the look with her nose ring and the trendy hat.
She added a caption reading: ‘Would very much prefer to be back here rn rather than finishing my dissertation’, to which her co-star Rayan Rachedi commented: ‘i wanna see the same photo but with your dissertation in your hands next time’.
Other Traitors stars to comment on the post were Dr Amos Ogunkoya, who simply wrote ‘Beaut’ and Meryl Williams who sweetly penned, ‘Stunning’.
After being chosen as one of the original Traitors, she was later betrayed by one of her fellow Traitors Amanda, leading to her untimely departure.
At the end of the show, Meryl, Hannah and Aaron were crowned winners at the dramatic final, after they managed to root out traitors Kieran and Wilfred to win £100k in the final, which nearly saw Wilfred steal the whole jackpot.
Speaking about her time on the show, Alyssa said: ‘Surprisingly, I really wanted to be a Traitor because, I thought at the time, you’d have more fun…

‘You have more control of the game. I mean, it’s like you’ve doubled your chances of winning because you don’t have to worry about being murdered at night. And I also thought I’d be better as a Traitor. I just thought I’d have so much fun with it…
‘In hindsight, there’s only so much you could say about how it’s gonna play out, but it comes down to control and actually strategy on how to win the game. I thought I was in a better position as a Traitor.’
She then revealed that during the show, the contestants would have a cap on their drink allowance: ‘Personally, I would say, ‘Yeah, I’ll have a drink’, but I never would…
‘So I’d literally take a sip and put it down because I am too much of a lightweight that I can’t afford to get tipsy as a Traitor…

‘There was a limit of two drinks, I think, but everyone was too busy chatting and kind of debriefing about the round tables to even properly have a drink.’
When asked what she took home from the show, she said: ‘I cheekily took home my train ticket from the beginning. We had little train tickets with our names on it…
‘So we knew where to sit. And I remember Fay got Aaron and I to sign it, which was sweet. I was like, ‘Gosh, I should’ve done that’…
‘That’s the only thing I brought back but another thing we got was Claudia actually sent us all handwritten letters – just to thank us for being on the show…
‘It’s got the Traitors symbol stamped on it as well. I was like, ‘Who is sending me a letter?’ but it was just so surreal. So I like to keep it by my bed.’
