The Undoing’s Matilda De Angelis, 25, on THOSE naked scenes

The Undoing star Matilda De Angelis has spoken about how superstars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant helped ease her into nude scenes in the show.

The hit mini series, written by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) and directed by Susanne Bier (The Night Manager), sees Matilda, 25, play the illusive Elena Alves who becomes entangled in Grace and Jonathan Fraser’s marriage.

In a standout scene, Elena approaches Nicole’s character Grace in the gym while entirely naked and while she was initially perturbed by the scene, she revealed Nicole, 53, gave her sage words of advice, while Hugh, 60, was also a comfort.

The Undoing is adapted from Jean Hanff Korelitz’s 2014 novel You Should Have Known and does perfect justice to the scintillating book, which tells the tale of Elena’s murder and the feverish hunt for the identity of her killer.

With Hugh as her love interest, she featured in steamy sex scenes with the Brit and was also engaged in the showstopping naked scenes with Nicole.

‘She’s done many, many naked scenes and she helped me a lot. She said, “We’re nothere to judge you. Just imagine you’re fully dressed and be confident”.’

With the help of an intimacy coordinator and assuring Hugh, she also nailed the sex scenes in extremely steamy detail.

She said of the intimacy coordinator: ‘He was, like, “If you’re uncomfortable just tell me.” And I was, like, ‘I’m a bit uncomfortable with you”‘, as she was concerned

‘There are changes that we must accept in our life and with them, the perception of ourselves and the world around us. Paradoxical things happen in life don’t they? Well, for me, being an actress and working with a face eaten by acne is one of them.

‘Every day I have to wake up and present myself first in front of the mirror and then in front of the camera with all the emotional load that already entails and being “splendid”, “in part” and concentrated together with all my fears and insecurities literally on the skin.’

The actress noted that she is aware there are ‘much bigger problems in life’, but explained that she believed by sharing her selfie, and her struggle with her skin, she will feel ‘stronger’ and become more accepting of herself.
