Joy Behar is not one to shy away from an awkward moment – but even she couldn’t help but cringe when she an ‘evil’ producer on The View publicly humiliated her in front of her celebrity crush, Liam Neeson.
The 80-year-old TV host’s Wednesday began on a high after Liam, 70, joined her and the other hosts on The View to promote his new movie. But her happiness quickly turned to humiliation when her co-star Sunny revealed that a producer had secretly compiled a video montage of every time she’s mooned over the Taken star on-air.
‘[Joy] will believe anything that you say because it’s no secret that Joy thinks you’re the hottest and the greatest ever,’ Sunny said to Liam, before adding: ‘And in case there was any doubt, we have a few times she’s brought you up over the years, I think we have some video.’
To Joy’s horror a montage of clips then began playing – much to the delight of Liam – beginning with a video of her telling The View audience: ‘I would just like to have my ashes sprinkled over Liam Neeson.’
The View host Joy Behar was left mortified on Wednesday when an ‘evil’ producer ’embarrassed’ her in front of her celebrity crush Liam Neeson
The 80-year-old was initially delighted to be joined by the actor, 70, on the talk show – until she discovered that her co-hosts and producers had a prank in store for her
In the next clip, she’s heard telling her fellow panel members that she has the capacity to love both her husband, Steve Janowitz, and Liam.
‘There’s room in my heart for Steve… and for Liam Neeson, let’s say,’ she says.
Then, a video of her waxing lyrical about his hit movie series Taken played: ‘I mean Liam Neeson right now, those kidnapping movies that he does get me so aroused, I can’t tell you.’
She repeated her desire to have her ‘ashes sprinkled over Liam Neeson’ in the fourth clip, before the montage ran a series of videos that simply featured Joy saying the actor’s name during various episodes of the show – all while he watched on in hysterics.
After the montage concluded, the normally-outspoken Joy seemed somewhat lost for words, before turning to her co-hosts and asking: ‘Am I blushing? Am I blushing?’
Liam – for his part – took the prank in his stride, jokingly asking Joy: ‘You received the checks, right?’
‘I have… I’m sorry, I’m speechless at this point,’ Joy replied, while staring down at the desk in front of her. ‘How embarrassing when they put them all together like that!’
Joy then seemed to recover control of her emotions and turned her horror towards The View producer behind the prank, yelling out: ‘That was evil, Brian. Embarrassing me… and Liam!’
Joy’s co-host Sunny Hostin revealed they had compiled a video montage of all the times she’s fawned over Liam live on-air, including when she said: ‘Sprinkle my ashes over Liam Neeson’

Ironically, just minutes before Joy’s co-hosts gleefully revealed the video montage, the 80-year-old comedian had been waxing lyrical about Liam and his acting abilities, telling him: ‘We talk about you so much, I feel like you’ve been here.’
Ana Navarro then retorted: ‘Um, you talk about him so much!’
‘Joy wants to get taken by you,’ Alyssa Farah Griffin joked, prompting Joy to fly into an impersonation of Liam in the Taken movies.
‘I will find you and I will kill you!’ she said while pointing at the cameras. ‘I love it.’
Whoopi Goldberg then jumped in to diffuse the awkwardness left lingering by Joy’s Taken rendition, returning the talk to Liam’s latest movie endeavor, Marlowe.
‘Sooo… Phillip Marlowe,’ she said, while awkwardly staring into the camera. ‘Why Philip Marlowe?’
But while the conversation lingered on Marlowe for a few quick minutes, Joy soon circled back to her fondness for the actor, telling him: ‘So I got this Valentine from you today,’ while opening up a white envelope.
‘It says: “Happy belated Valentine’s Day, Liam X” and I was like, “Ooooh.”
The TV host was left horrified and ‘speechless’ after the video montage ran
She then turned on the producer who had put it together branding him ‘evil’ for ’embarrassing her… and Liam’
For his part, Liam took the prank in his stride and even jokingly asked Joy whether she had ‘received the checks’
‘And then I found out you gave it to all of us. Don’t rain on my parade, OK girls?’
But Sunny was about to do just that, chiming in to reveal to Joy that Liam had written something ‘very special’ in her Valentine.
‘You can’t win!’ Liam joked, before Ana handed her card over to Liam along with a marker and asked him to add ‘another heart’.
Despite Joy’s humiliation over the on-air prank, The View audiences were left delighted by the hilarious exchange, with several taking to Twitter to voice their amusement at her embarrassment.
‘I can absolutely sympathize with @JoyVBehar… from all I’ve seen over the years, Mr. Neeson seems to be a very charming, witty, down to earth gent with a wicked sense of humor. Ageing suits him well, so it’s difficult not to be charmed by a guest like #LiamNeeson,’ one wrote.
‘I bet Neeson has a fun time with the view. Specially his great fan Joy hitting on him. She really is a good fan of him,’ another added.
A third chimed in: ‘Love it!! Seeing you girls at the table with Liam Neeson [is] priceless. I’m with Joy he’s my favorite too.’
