The vile moment an internet prankster eats a live GOLDFISH

A Sydney ‘comedian’ has swallowed a live fish inside a pet store as part of a grim series of dares with one of his mates – only to vomit it up minutes later.

Trent Hunt selected his victim of choice from a large tank of goldfish at a Petbarn in Penrith, in Sydney’s east, before throwing it down his throat the second a staff member turned away.

In a theatrical performance for a video, which was later shared to Facebook, the 22-year-old flashed his tongue to prove he had in fact swallowed the small fish.

But his boastful display didn’t last long, with him filmed moments later keeled over in the car park projectile vomiting.

The dead goldfish was regurgitated onto a garden bed along with profuse amounts of purple slushie he had been drinking earlier.

His pranking-accomplice and self-described ‘entertainer’ friend, Kyron Dryden, can be heard laughing behind the camera as he pans closer to the body of the fish.

Hunt then challenges him to ‘top that’ with a more ‘impressive’ dare.

Petbarn lodged a formal complaint with RSPCA NSW after the video, which was shared on Tuesday, went viral.

A statement from RSPCA revealed it had received a large number of complaints from the public in relation to act of ‘animal cruelty’.

‘It’s completely astounding how anyone could think it is funny to eat a live pet fish, where it would suffer a slow and painful death, all in a poor attempt at humour,’ chief inspector David OShannessy said.

‘The law is very clear around protections for fish and other sentient beings under the legislation, and this matter will be thoroughly investigated.’

NSW Police have received a complaint in relation to the filming of a Petbarn staff member without their permission, according to the statement.

Petbarn have released a statement outlining that they are deeply upset by the incident and are conducting their own investigation.

Daily Mail Australia contacted Hunt and Kyron for comment.
