The Voice winner Karise Eden reveals her incredible 21kg weight loss transformation

She’s the singer who won the first season of The Voice back in 2012.

And fast forward six years and Karise Eden looks almost unrecognisable compared to the 19-year-old who wowed Australia with her powerful voice.

These days, Karise, 25, is sporting a rather boho rocker look with tattoos on both sides of her neck and a much more svelte frame.

Her love of ink is made further evident with roses adorning her shoulder and various tattoos lining her arms and hands.

Karise’s face has been further transformed thanks to a ring that sits in the middle of her lip and an array of bling that runs along her ears.

Her face looks a lot more chiseled than it did back in 2012, with prominent cheekbones and a stronger jawline.

After she gave birth to her son Blayden on Christmas eve 2014,  Karise dropped a formidable 21 kilograms after overhauling her diet and exercise regime.

Speaking to Woman’s Day in 2016, Karise revealed that she had dropped the weight with daily runs on the treadmill, 150 squats a night and by quitting sugar.

‘My body changed when I became a mum but now when I look in the mirror I think: ‘Hey hot mama! you’re looking good,’she told the publication.

Admitting that she gained 30kgs while pregnant with Blayden, Karise added that she was proud of the way motherhood had changed her body.

‘I’m proud of my tiger stripes on my tummy,’ she said. ‘That was my son’s home once.’

The pressure of reality television eventually took it’s toll on Karise, who admitted to Australian Story in 2014 that she had an emotional breakdown.

‘As much as it was big and brilliant and exciting for [Australia] to sit there and watch this Karise Eden character come out of nowhere, I was very stressed out,’ she said.

Karise added: ‘I was very tired and I was very sick. I hit rock bottom and I had a breakdown.’

She added that it all came to a head during her first national tour, on the back of her number one album My Journey saying: ‘I didn’t know who I was expected to be.’

Still forging ahead with her music career, Karise released  her latest album Things I’ve Done in 2014 while adding her talents to the Nine Network drama Love Child with a cover of the Shirelles classic Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.
