The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and The Walking Dead: Dead City are officially renewed for a second season launching on Stan

New seasons of The Walking Dead spinoffs are coming exclusively to Australian streaming service Stan in 2024. 

The Walking Dead: Dead City and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon have both been renewed for second seasons and will launch exclusively on Stan in Australia, same day as the U.S. 

A third new spinoff series titled The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which follows the return of fan-favourites Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) will also premiere in 2024 exclusively on Stan. 

The Walking Dead: Dead City follows former enemies Maggie Greene (Maggie Greene) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they fight through a zombie-filled Manhattan in an effort to rescue her son from a group of outlaws. 

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon follows the titular character’s journey after he unexpectedly washes up in France and must find his way home. 

As he travels across a troubled but resilient nation, he forms connections along the way that may complicate his efforts to get home. 

Daryl, who is played by Norman Reedus, is the longest-serving character in The Walking Dead franchise, having first appeared in the original series which ran from 2010 until 2022.

Daryl Dixon will also feature actors Clemence Poesy, Adam Nagaitis and Eriq Ebouaney.

AMC Studios’ president of entertainment, Dan McDermott, recently gave a statement to express that fans of the Walking Dead franchise had much to expect from the new seasons. ‘We can’t wait to bring Dead City fans back to the epicentre of Manhattan for more zip-lining action with Maggie and Negan,’ he said

‘We can’t wait to bring Dead City fans back to the epicentre of Manhattan for more zip-lining action with Maggie and Negan,’ he said.

Of Daryl Dixon, McDerrmott added: ‘We’re thrilled to double down on Daryl as we bring the apocalypse to France, transforming Notre Dame, Pont du Gard and other iconic locales into an apocalyptic landscape unlike anything we’ve seen before.’ 

The brand new series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon premieres September 11 on Stan. The final episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City season 1 premieres July 24.
