The episode started with Maggie, Negan, Elijah and Father Gabriel (Gabriel Stokes) on the run deep in the woods trying to hide from the Reapers.
Negan tried to urge them to turn back. He said Maggie should admit that she was making them walk to their death for a ‘sack of beans.’ Maggie told Negan to go back and that they didn’t need him. A walker came upon them in the woods and Elijah went to kill it, but Maggie stopped him.
Instead Maggie had them tie the zombies to the trees and then told Elijah that they would find his sister’s murderer. Father Gabriel then went off on mission to gather intel on the Reapers camp and Maggie told him to be careful because there were scouts everywhere.
Negan then used the time in the woods to teach Maggie how to herd the zombies. They cut off a face from a zombie, wore it and then walked in circles as one followed.
