The Weeknd announces new tour dates – and some Aussie fans aren’t happy: ‘Are you serious right now?’

The Weeknd has announced he is finally heading Down Under after cancelling his last Australian tour.

The superstar took to Instagram on Monday to announce that he will be bringing his global After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour to Sydney’s Marvel Stadium and Melbourne’s Accor Stadium in October.

‘AUSTRALIA, I didn’t forget about you, See you in October,’ The Hills hitmaker captioned the tour announcement.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, initially postponed his tour of Australia in November last year, just weeks out from the kick off.

The tour was eventually cancelled, with all sold tickets refunded.

While many have welcomed the rescheduled dates, some fans have slammed the snubbing of Brisbane and New Zealand,  which were originally slated for shows.

‘”Australia, I didn’t forget about you”, you very much forgot about Brisbane and NZ,’ wrote one angry fan on Instagram.

Another issued their displeasure with: ‘Are you serious right now, what the hell happened to Brisbane honestly f***ing us around at this point.’

One concerned concertgoer added that they were reluctant to buy tickets, given the tour’s Down Under history, adding the decision to snub Brisbane was ‘crazy’

‘Okay ain’t no way,’ they wrote.

‘I  bought tickets last year, waited for the show to be rescheduled, got a refund when the show was cancelled, but now you come back and aren’t doing a show in brisbane. Crazy.’
