The X Factor star Eoghan Quigg, 30, looks worlds away from his baby-faced teenage self

He rose to fame on The X Factor at the tender age of 16 as the baby-faced singer from Northern Ireland.

And Eoghan Quigg, 30, looks a far cry from his from his younger self as gone is the cute spiky-haired warbler he was once known as, and in his place is a tattooed hunk.

His look isn’t the only thing that is different, as Eoghan ventured into parenthood when he welcomed his daughter Emmy Belle, 11 months, with his girlfriend Amy Campbell last April.

The couple have been together since 2015, became home-owners in 2019, and the former talent show hopeful helps raise Amy’s two children from a previous relationship.

In an interview before the birth of his baby girl, Eoghan said he was ‘over the moon’ about becoming a father.

He told The Belfast Telegraph: ‘We are both delighted, absolutely over the moon.

‘In a very strange and tough year, it’s fantastic news and has definitely turned 2020 into a very memorable year for us – in a good way.’

When the series ended, the star traded in the stage for the library, as he opted to do ‘the whole university thing’.

Eoghan placed third on the show in 2008, finishing behind JLS and eventual winner year of Alexandra Burke.

And in good news for fans, Eoghan still works as a singer as member of Irish wedding band The Housem8s, but he also has new career passions in life.

As a footballer, he joined Coagh United F.C. in 2015, before moving on to Portstewart F.C. in the Northern Ireland Intermediate League.

He also works as a presenter for Q Radio, where he presents a segment called  #QuiggOnQ.

Discussing his radio gig, he said recently: ‘The best thing for me is that no two shows are the same, there’s always something different which keeps it fresh and that’s what I love.

‘I also enjoy the banter with Q Radio listeners.’

X Factor viewers will now doubt remember the Irish lad for his super young appearance and spiky blonde hair.

But these days he rocks a smarter brunette haircut having undergone a hair transplant in 2020, bulging muscles and a sleeve of tattoos.

In his home life, Eoghan and his stunning girlfriend Amy recently brought their first house together, and celebrated their anniversary.

Discussing his time on Simon Cowell’s flagship show, during a This Morning interview in 2016, Eoghan said: ‘I was 16 at the time, I was still a kid, I was still in school.

‘It was a big change for me, but one of the best experiences of my life.’

‘I moved back and did the whole education thing [after the show], I went to uni and now I’m back after my break, gigging.’

Eoghan famously enjoyed a romance with fellow X Factor star Diana Vickers, branding their fleeting liaison ‘the best experience’ of his life.

Simon had been set to sign Eoghan to his record label Syco after his time on The X Factor, but ultimately decided against it.

The teenager later joined RCA Records and dropped his debut namesake album in 2009. However, it reached number 14 in the UK chart and his single 28,000 Friends only reached position 96, which resulted in Eoghan being dropped.

Eoghan attempted to represent Ireland in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with The Movie Song but came in second.
