She was left heartbroken when Matty ‘J’ Johnson dumped her in The Bachelor finale in favour of jewellery designer Laura Byrne.
But while Elise Stacy didn’t see the rejection coming, apparently her eyes were a dead giveaway.
According to a bizarre theory proposed by a fan on Twitter on Thursday night, the runner-up will always be the one wearing strong eye makeup.
The eyes have it! On Thursday, a Bachelor fan took to Twitter to propose the bizarre theory that the runner-up will always be wearing heavier eye makeup – like Elise Stacy (pictured)
Former Hockeyroo Elise’s strong eye liner, eye shadow and mascara was prominently on display as she sobbed after being dismissed by Matty.
The choice of makeup was a bad omen from the beginning, according to one viewer who pointed out the pattern on Twitter.
‘Note to future #BachelorAU girls: If you make the final 2 & you are having heavy eye makeup applied for the finale… he hasn’t picked you,’ the fan wrote on Twitter.

Got it in the bag! Eventual winner Laura Byrne (left) wore a comparatively lighter shade of eye makeup
Eventual winner Laura was styled in a comparatively lighter shade when it came to her makeup palette, as the handsome marketing manager professed his love for her.
In last year’s season the theory held true with runner-up Nikki Gogan given a dark smoky eye look.
Richie Strahan’s number one pick Alex Nation opted for a less dramatic look with more muted shades.

Bold beauties! Lisa Hyde (left) and Lana Jeavons-Fellows (right) also had strong eye makeup when they were named runners up in season two and three
Looking back at seasons two and three of the popular Channel Ten dating show, the theory becomes even more convincing.
Runner-ups Lisa Hyde and Lana Jeavons-Fellows in those series were also glammed up in bold eye makeup.
It also appeared that the eye makeup theory worked in Tim Robards’ season, with number two Rochelle Emanuel Smith opting for slightly darker colours than love rival Anna Heinrich.
