These are the most surprising celebrity godparents and their godchildren

These are the most surprising celebrity godparents and their godchildren – but do YOU know who goes with who?

You’ve heard of a fairy godmother – but one step better is surely having a celebrity godparent.

Hollywood’s A-listers have struck up some surprising friendships with each other over the years and this has resulted in some unusual choices for godparenting.

Brad Pitt’s love for rock band U2 was revealed when he chose Bono to become godfather to twins Knox and Vivienne, while Hugh Jackman has enjoyed a relatively low-key decades-long friendship with Rupert Murdoch.

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus and her godmother Dolly Parton have been close pals for years, even appearing in episodes of Hannah Montana together.

Another connection that you may not necessarily make is between Jamie Lee Curtis and her godson Jake Gyllenhaal.

In fact, Jamie and Jake lived next door to one another during the Covid-19 lockdown, with the latter often whipping up loaves of sourdough bread to provide some much-needed entertainment.

Here, MailOnline takes a look at some of the most surprising celebrity godparent and godchild combinations.
