A fitness business has launched face masks specifically designed to be worn while exercising to reduce the discomfort many experience and reduce the spread of bacteria.

Under Armour sports masks are made with high-performance materials that allow the item to be worn comfortably during a workout.

The three-layered fabric allows air to pass through but blocks out moisture and minimises the presence of bacteria due to an ‘anti-microbial treatment’.

Wearing a mask helps reduce the spread of viruses and will suppress the transmission of COVID-19.

Currently in New South Wales, masks are mandatory in selected indoor settings and when using public transport across Greater Sydney, Wollongong, the Central Coast, Shellharbour and Blue the Mountains.

Face masks must be worn when attending indoor public areas including supermarkets, shopping centres, bank branches, post offices, hairdressing, nail, beauty, tanning and waxing salons, spas, tattoo parlours and massage parlours and betting agencies.

For the first time, NSW residents are encouraged to wear masks at the gym and while at work.

The product can be worn while playing sports and while doing cardio or weights-based fitness training, as the sleek design provides minimal movement.

The fitness product is currently on sale for $30 but retails for $40 full price and would be ideal for personal trainers or those who exercise regularly.

It’s available in a variety of colours and sizes to suit different face shapes.

The mask is highly durable and washable, making it an environmentally friendly option compared to single-use masks.

The ‘iso-chill’ technology disperses heat from the fabric and makes the fabric feel cool when worn.

The product has also been endorsed by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson who shared a selfie on Instagram wearing the mask.

‘Great comfortable mask. I can now breathe easier than compared to many other types of masks that you can get at the shops nowadays. Just bear in mind that if you wear glasses then you’ll still get the fogging up to your glasses at times,’ one person wrote.

‘This is the best mask for any athletic/leisure activities and it is not particularly close. It’s pricey, but like most things you get what you pay for,’ another said.

A third wrote: ‘This mask is super comfortable to workout inside and outside. I love it!’
