Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson is the proud mother of sons Flynn, 22, and Cy, 17, who she shares with her French financier ex, Arpad Busson.

And it seems that the boys have inherited their mother’s model genes.

The trio posed up together for the latest cover of France’s Elle Magazine, which shows her boys towering over her.

Statuesque Elle, who is just under 6ft, looks incredible in a plunging and semi sheer metallic dress.

She flashes a hint of a black bra and has her long locks out and over her shoulders.

Her makeup is complete with light foundation and lashings of mascara.

The photograph was shot by famed fashion photographer, Gilles Bensimon, 76, who Elle was married to from 1986-1989.

Elle posted the cover on her Instagram page this week and said how thrilled she is because it celebrates ‘long lasting evolving relationships, friendships, family, love and life.’

‘I began my career nearly 40 years ago working with French Elle and Gilles,’ she said.

‘Today, the release of this image, an homage to family with our sons Flynn and Cy is momentous. Not because it’s the cover of an iconic magazine, but because it’s a celebration of long lasting evolving relationships, friendships, family, love and life.’

‘Thank you Gilles for capturing us so beautifully and thank you Elle France for including us in this special 75 anniversary issue. These images are for a life time.’

Elle has previously said that when she became a mother, she decided to put her sons first, over her career.

‘I was 35 when I had my first (Flynn) and 41 when I had Cy and so I came to children a little later in life, but I made sure they were going to be the priority,’ she said at a Business Chicks breakfast, as reported by The Herald Sun.

‘I used to travel a lot and I’d go through that thing that (working) mothers go through.’

‘I would always tell them: ”Mum loves what she does and I hope in life you find something you love to do so that work doesn’t feel like work and you go off and do your thing and while I’m off doing my thing, how cool for you guys to have that time without your helicopter, control-freak mother around.”

She said she was ‘moved’ to read that one of her sons said in an interview that she made them feel that they were her ‘priority.’
