An alleged thief has been caught after he boasted about his ‘new bike’ in a Snapchat video.

The man from Adelaide allegedly nicked the motorcyle in the city’s northern suburbs.

He bragged about it in a Snapchat video with the caption ‘new bike’.

Meanwhile, the bike’s owner Bradley Brown posted a status on Facebook saying his bike was stolen, including pictures. 

Someone who had seen the Snapchat video told Mr Brown that he knew who had allegedly stolen his bike.

Mr Brown called police who went round to the alleged’s thief’s house and recovered the bike. 

Mr Brown told Today Tonight how the recovery operation unfolded. 

‘I got home and had a message from someone on Facebook saying your bike’s at this address,’ he said.

‘She sent me a snapchat video of my bike.’

Mr Brown said he went to the alleged thief’s house and he tried to get away before he was caught.

He was devastated that his bike had been damaged.

‘They’ve been doing burnouts on it and broke the steering lock on it,’ he told the programme.
