This is the astonishing moment that a brazen thief steals expensive jewellery from a smashed shop window while talking to stunned shoppers on a busy high street.
The raid took place on jewellers Chisholm Hunter on the High Street in Bromley, South East London, on Saturday morning.
Footage shows the man reaching into the hole in the window he has made with a hammer before one stunned shopper says, ‘is he for real’ and another talks to him.

The video starts with the man hitting the window with the hammer to make a hole.
He is then seen standing next to it on shards of broken glass as a woman filming says, ‘Is he for real? Is he seriously for real?
As another woman approaches the man and puts her hand on his arm, the filmer adds once more, ‘Oh my God, is he seriously for real?’
After getting the thief’s attention, the other woman, who is wearing a pink and white checked jacket, says, ‘so are you just taking the watches now?’
The shocked woman then repeats to a man standing behind the thief, ‘is he just grabbing the watches?’
In an apparent attempt to stop the watch thief, the woman puts her hands on his chest and talks to him as he continues putting his hand through the hole to steal more high-value goods.
The stunned woman filming the window says ‘is he for real’ before another woman dressed in a pink and white checked jacket puts her hand on his arm and talks to him. The woman says to him, ‘so are you just taking the watches now’?
Another man adds, ‘Yeah just help yourself,’ before the filmer says once more, ‘Is he for real?’
The Metropolitan Police later said that a man was arrested on Saturday Morning before being charged on Sunday.
A spokesman said: ‘Nathan Thamby, 30, of no fixed address was charged on Sunday, 23 September with aggravated burglary, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a knife and assaulting an emergency worker.
‘He was further charged in connection with another burglary. He is due to appear Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 September.
