This is what 50 looks like: Marketing business owner reveals her top tips for staying youthful

Anita Pace lives in Hull with her husband, Adam. They have two children, Mia, eight, and Pippa, six. Anita runs her own marketing business.

MIDLIFE VEGAN

I decided to go vegan this year, after reading about the health benefits, which are thought to include cancer prevention. It’s been surprisingly easy: I eat a lot of smoothies, salads with falafel and stir-fries. I’ve already lost weight and feel more ‘toned’. Best of all, I no longer get bloated.

NATURAL TAN TRICK

When I was younger, I used sunbeds a lot. Now, I stick to sunbathing on holiday or exercising outside. I wear factor 30 suncream, but also apply Garnier Ambre Solaire After Sun Tan Maintainer several times a week, like a moisturiser (£5, boots.com).

Anita Pace, 50, (pictured) revealed her tips for maintaining an ageless appearance including taking time to unwind with family

TIME TO UNWIND

I met my husband when I was 40 and was lucky enough to have two children. As an older mum, it can be hard juggling work and family. So we take regular time out as a couple, to unwind from our busy lives. We plan special holidays — especially to Australia, where my husband grew up.

CLEVER COLOUR

I’ve been colouring my hair since I was 20. I’m naturally dark blonde, but prefer it lighter. I hate the upkeep, though, so I always get a mix of highlights and lowlights. The darker streaks make it less obvious when my roots show. Now, I can visit the salon every ten weeks, rather than every five.

MILLENNIAL WORKPLACE

I’ve always wanted to set up my own business and, two-and-a-half years ago, I did. It was the best decision I’ve ever made: I absolutely love it. Plus, my ‘millennial’ colleagues keep me young! I’m a decade older than everyone else. They’ve made a current music playlist for the office and I get all the latest gossip — I even know every name on the TV show Love Island at the moment!
