EMBRACE YOUR FRECKLES

When I was younger, I hated my freckles. I used to go to school plastered in my nan’s Max Factor foundation — but it was the wrong shade! Now I embrace my freckles and use only foundation with a light coverage to let them show through. I love Armani UV Master Primer SPF 40 (£42, armanibeauty.co.uk) and its Prima CC Cream (£37). I dot it on and it gives my skin a lovely glow.

WELLNESS FESTIVALS

It’s important to invest in your wellbeing. I’ve been doing yoga since I was in my 20s, and I took up meditation last year at a retreat in Snowdonia. It’s been life-changing. I also went to an Ayurvedic festival in Glastonbury (£400, apa.uk.com). I’ve learned my mind can be my best friend or my worst enemy — and how to manage it.

SUBTLE TWEAKMENTS

Last year, I got a couple of tweakments: filler in my jaw and cheeks, plus a little ‘baby Botox’ around my eyes, nose, lips and neck (approximately £2,000, oneaestheticstudio.com). Dr Chantrey, at the clinic, is amazing as she asks you about the emotional side of things. This has boosted my confidence. I love hearing my husband say I look good.

MID-LIFE HAIR JOURNEY

Over the past five years, I’ve been on a hair journey at my salon — I’m trying to grow it out and lighten it. I get my roots done once a month (£45), then highlights and a cut every other time (£65). To keep my hair healthy, I wash it only once a week before getting a blow-dry (£20). I keep it fresh with a spritz of Byredo Gypsy Water Eau de Parfum (£165, net-a-porter.com).

MENOPAUSE MoT

At 46, I had to have a hysterectomy, which forced me into menopause — I got hot flushes overnight. So I did a health MoT at Up Fitness, where the personal trainers tested my body fat and prescribed a diet plan (£2,400 for eight weeks, upfitness.com). I also drink coconut milk and put fennel essential oil on my pulse points to cool myself down. I feel like myself again.
