This is what 52 looks like: Fitness coach reveals real hair extensions and DIY face masks keep her young

DON’T RUN, POWER WALK

I love my job as a fitness coach, as I’m transforming women’s lives through exercise. I power walk for 45 minutes, twice a week. It’s better for toning muscles than running. The key is to carry a set of 2 kg hand weights, or two heavy water bottles, to do bicep curls and shoulder raises as you walk.

CBD FACIAL

I visit Lesley Reynolds’ clinic in Harley Street for a bespoke facial each month. I recently tried their CBD Stressbuster Facial (£120, lesley reynolds.com), which is amazing. They put a few drops of CBD oil under your tongue to relax you, and use it in the facial massage. My skin just glows.

REAL HAIR EXTENSIONS

I’ve been wearing real hair extensions (£600, greatlengthshair.co.uk) for ten years. I have them changed every three months at my salon. It’s expensive, but worth it to me, as my hair makes me feel feminine. I put coconut or almond oil on the ends to keep them in good condition.

DIET PLANT-BASED DIET

I’ve been through the menopause. I had no hot flushes, mood swings or sleeplessness, due to my plant-based diet. In the mornings, I drink lemon water and have some banana and almond butter pre-workout; then I have eggs, spinach, tomato and mushrooms for breakfast; an avocado and lentil salad at lunch; and white fish, vegetables and sweet potato for dinner. I also take vitamin D3 tablets (£8.19, hollandandbarrett.com), to calm my mind and improve sleep.

DIY FACE MASK

Every week, I make my own plant-based skincare. I use natural, organic ingredients, and my favourite recipe is a face mask containing a papaya, a banana, fresh lemon juice, 1 tsp honey and a whisked egg. This anti-ageing combination of antioxidants, potassium and vitamin C leaves my skin with a healthy glow.
