Tragedy struck during a diving trip in the Red Sea, Egypt, as a boat named Hurrican became engulfed in flames, leaving three British tourists missing. The vessel, carrying a total of 29 individuals, was consumed by the fire, creating a distressing scene captured on shocking footage.

Thick black smoke billowed from the ship as flames ravaged its stern.

Emergency services were promptly alerted to the perilous situation after reports indicated that the blaze originated in the engine room due to an electrical circuit malfunction.

Fortunately, rescue efforts managed to save 26 passengers, including 12 British citizens and 14 believed to be Egyptian.

Authorities have confirmed that the rescued individuals, both passengers and crew members, sustained no injuries and were in good health as they were brought ashore. However, the three missing British tourists have yet to be located.

The ill-fated cruiser had embarked on its journey from Port Ghalib, situated in the eastern city of Marsa Alam, on June 6.

Its intended return was scheduled for today. The vessel was operating under the Tornado Marine Fleet tours, known for their “Luxury Red Sea Liveaboards,” which typically cost just under £1,500 per trip.

As the search for the missing British tourists continues, the incident serves as a somber reminder of the dangers that can unexpectedly arise during what was meant to be an enjoyable diving excursion in the Red Sea.
