Three children have tragically died in a house fire in Western Australia.

Fire crews rushed to Anderson Street in Port Hedland, 1,500km north of Perth, about 4.45pm on Tuesday afternoon when witnesses reported the blaze.

When they arrived a single storey house was engulfed in the inferno and after fighting for 30 minutes to get the fire under control, the bodies of the three children were found.

The street was also ‘crawling’ with police and paramedics and there was police tape cordoning off the area hundreds of metres away from the scene, a local told The West Australian.
