Three friends build a pool to beat summer heat

As temperatures soar in Australia, an idea from New Zealand could be the perfect solution for Aussies hoping to cut through the heat.

With some serious ‘Kiwi ingenuity’ in January 2016, three men constructed a makeshift swimming pool in their backyard, using only timber, a nail gun and some plastic wrapping sheet.

‘Took us 30 minutes to make… Best idea ever, next one will be bigger and deeper, everyone can join… bring the BIKINIS!’ wrote Danny Aldworth, after he posted photos of the engineering masterpiece on a local radio station’s Facebook page.

According to the Edge radio station’s Facebook page, the men escaped strict pool regulations because they drained it after use.

‘We love Danny and have no intentions to dob him into the council for his insufficient fencing…because we assume he will be draining it after each use…because he is in a place that has no water restrictions. AND everyone is wearing sunscreen & drinking responsibly. Cool. Everybody happy. No need to complain,’ read the post.
