Three hospitalised after head-on crash in Mount Pritchard, Sydney

Three people have been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a horror head-on collision in Sydney’s south-west.

Emergency services raced to Townview Rd, Mount Pritchard shortly before 10pm on Tuesday night following a crash between a Kia and Ford Escape.

A male passenger in the Kia and the female driver in the Ford SUV were trapped in their vehicles for more than an hour before firefighters managed to free them from the wreckage.

The passenger, 23, in the Kia was treated for suspected spinal injuries, while the male driver 22, suffered minor injuries.

The female driver of the Ford suffered leg and spinal injuries.

All three were taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Photos from the scene show the crumpled wreckages of both vehicles and debris from the crash strewn across the road. 

It is understood the Kia driver is known to police and is assisting them with inquiries.

Crash investigators spent the night examining the crime scene. 

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
