Three people suffered injuries after a collapsed dock sent more than 20 people flailing into the water on Saturday at a restaurant in South Carolina.

The wooden dock came tumbling down out of nowhere at The Wreck of the Richard & Charlene on Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant, sending three to a hospital with minor injuries, the Post and Courier reported.

Among the clamor, a woman’s voice could be heard saying, ‘We have to get out of the way,’ in video captured by a bystander. 

The restaurant, which is closed on Mondays according to its website, could not immediately be reached for comment.

DailyMail.com reached out to the Mount Pleasant Police Department requesting additional information and is awaiting a reply.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department tweeted shortly after 9pm Eastern on Saturday: ‘The dock at The Wreck restaurant gave way and approximately 20 people went into the water.

‘It is believed that everyone is out of the water but a diver is checking the area. 3 people were transported by EMS with minor injuries.’

People could be seen in the video swimming around a boat that had been docked at the site of the incident.

Photos from the mishap show two dozen people wading in the water, awaiting their turn to be helped back onto dry land.

One man was pictured clutching onto a flotation device around his neck, taken from what appeared to be a significantly higher vantage point on stable ground.

Those standing on the remaining dock space were pushing the boat away so it would not overrun those stuck in the water.
