An adorable Tibetan terrier who was brought to be a sheepdog has instead become her owner’s lapdog after failing to round up sheep because she looked so similar to them.
Little Nala, four, was brought as a puppy by farmer Jamie Beau Brewer, 32, after he was on the lookout for a sheepdog to come and help with his work.
Jamie was running the farm based in Broadway, Worcestershire, and was hoping Nala could help herd up to 200 sheep, but she failed on the first attempt after the sheep mistook her for one of them.

Jamie, whose parents own the farm, explained: ‘I was looking for a sheepdog and I came across the Tibetan terrier breed which were well known for being sheepdogs and decided to get Nala.
‘When we first took her out as a puppy, she used to charge at the sheep but they wouldn’t listen to her because she was so small.
‘Now, she tries to herd them for about a minute before running off to play with them and they don’t take her seriously because they think she’s one of them.

‘She wants to do it but she’s just not strong enough.
‘She’s a failed work dog and spends most of the time in the house on someone’s lap now.’
When Jamie first brought Nala home, he took her out onto the farm and attempted to teach her to herd the sheep.
But little Nala failed after struggling to understand how to do it.

Jamie added that people often think Nala is one of the lambs – but he does he best to encourage her
Nala is so fluffy she looks like one of the sheep which makes her job as a sheepdog tricky
Jamie added that Nala (pictured) still comes out every so often but is ‘more of a nuisance’
Jamie added: ‘She used to try and herd 200 sheep and lambs and it would be a complete mess.
‘As soon as the sheep noticed it was her, they knew they could get away with doing what they wanted.

‘Nala is absolutely spoilt rotten. The farm is a family farm and we’ve had it for nearly 100 years’.
