Tiger mum whose daughter does 25 hours of activities

A self-confessed ‘tiger mum’ has revealed her five-year-old daughter is signed up to a staggering 25 hours of extra-curricular activities a week. 

Sophie McGennity, 26, from Leyland, Lancashire, said her daughter, Crystal Pinington, enjoys her packed schedule of hobbies, which includes singing lessons, dance classes, and even her own gym membership.

While most mothers might worry about overloading their child, Sophie said Crystal revels in the business and that she is ‘proud’ to be a pushy parent.

Speaking to Hayley Richardson and Alley Einstein at the Sun, Sophie said: ‘I wasn’t going to be one of those lazy mums who doesn’t go out of her way to do extra things with their child – and it’s paid off.

‘I am proud to be a pushy tiger mum. My philosophy is working as Crystal is already top of her class and even having to be given work meant for children the year above her.’
