A tiger snake has been captured on camera using an electrical fence surrounding a winery as a tightrope to his next destination.
In footage posted to Facebook on the Bangor Vineyard Shed page on Tuesday, the snake is seen slithering along the wire near Dunalley in Tasmania’s south east.
‘The things you see out on the farm,’ the videos caption read.

‘I guess when you are a snake for a living then it’s quite cool to get a perspective from a new angle now and then. But that really does look like an awkward way to get around.’
Matt Dunbabin from Bangor Vineyard Shed said his farm staff enjoy seeing the snakes out on the farm but it was the first time one was spotted climbing anything, let alone a wire fence.
‘It was definitely a fascinating thing to see — what great poise and balance. After I took the video he continued on his merry way, and I guess he climbed back down to the ground when he’d had enough up there,’ Mr Dunbabin wrote.

Natalie Rivers from Reptile Rescue Incorporated said she was impressed by the deadly snake’s ability to balance.
‘They are very good climbers, although I’ve got to admit I’ve never seen one travel across the top of a wire like that.’
