It might have been 36 degrees, but this Detroit Tigers fan was determined to brave the cold and keep his record of never wearing a shirt at a game when his team played the Baltimore Orioles.

The supporter, called Voz, but otherwise known as Chewbacca, was spotted topping up his tan in the frigid weather while watching Tigers score a victory over their opponents.

Voz revealed he ‘runs hot’ so never wears shirts to games, and only did so once after he was told to put one.

He told CBS Sport’s Will Burchfield: ‘Every Tigers game I’ve ever been to I’ve not had a shirt.

‘That’s apart from one when I had it off and they made me put it back on. Don’t know the reasoning, don’t want to argue I enjoyed the game and have a good time.

‘People laugh at me a lot. My son in law says they want good pictures of me because they’re young and they like doing that.’

Fans were quick to praise Voz’s defiance against the elements and dedication to the Tigers of Twitter.

And ‘Smush Parker’ said: ‘Congrats to Tigers for letting their fans be themselves… but when I take my shirt off at a Yankees [game] I’m told to put it back on or I will be removed.’
