Tim Lutze: Neo-Nazi who proclaims Australia is for the ‘white man’ has his family car firebombed and goes running to the police

The family car of a notorious neo-Nazi was firebombed in a Christmas Eve attack.

Tim Lutze, who is a member of the National Socialist Network, shared images of his wife’s blue Holden Commodore being consumed in a fireball outside his Werribee home in Melbourne’s west.

‘Last night, left-wing terrorists firebombed my pregnant wife’s car while I was sleeping in the middle of the night,’ he said in a video.

‘(They) threw Molotov cocktails, other ones were found in the front yard.

‘My children were sleeping inside at the time, we were woken up by it, the neighbours came running out in the street, and they (the offenders) basically just ran off into the night.’

Mr Lutze said two Molotov cocktails were found in his front yard that had failed to ignite into petrol bombs.

‘Fire spread to the fence of the house and could have gone very bad very fast,’ he said.

‘It’s lucky there is a close community here all the neighbours came out and helped.’

Mr Lutze accused anti-fascist activists of committing the attack and claimed his group – which proclaims Australia is for the ‘white man’ – is peaceful.

‘These people have no honour attacking a home where children and a pregnant woman are sleeping,’ he said.

‘The media push this narrative that we’re violent and that we’re terrorists when we are the polar opposite of that.

‘We remain peaceful at all times we only have terrorism committed against us.’

Victoria Police are now investigating the incident.

The car was left a burnt out wreck after the attack, which Victoria Police believed may have involved several perpetrators

‘Detectives believe a number of offenders have thrown a Molotov cocktail into the window of a vehicle parked outside a Bower Drive address shortly before 1am,’ a police spokesperson said.

‘The Holden Commodore sustained extensive damage.

‘Two other Molotov cocktails were thrown in the vicinity of the property but there was no further damage.’

Mr Lutze was listed as a business director of a Sunshine West gym that has hosted far-right meetings of neo-Nazis with photographs showing the interior walls decorated with swastikas and other far-right iconography.

The gym’s business number was cancelled in May, meaning it is no longer a legitimate commercial entity for taxation purposes.

Mr Lutze has been pictured performing the Nazi salute, now illegal in Victoria, and has been photographed attendeding several of the far-right rallies.

The most recent public demonstration in early December saw around 30 masked and black-clad men march down the main street of the Victorian regional city of Ballarat 115km north west of Melbourne.

Questions were raised about Victoria Police watching and even escorting the group while managing traffic around them.

The Project host Steve Price also took aim at Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan, accusing her of using ‘weasel words’ to duck responsibility for allowing masked neo-Nazis to brazenly march down the main street of a town.

‘She should have got her police minister to tell the police commissioner of Victoria that you can’t allow people to walk down the street completely covered in a mask,’ he said.

‘Police should have stopped those blokes on that street in Ballarat, demanded that they demask or they would have been arrested.’

Victoria Police have been contacted for comment.
