Times royal women across Europe have worn the same dress (and looked equally amazing)

There are rules to being Royal. And even if they vary slightly from country to country, it’s no surprise that royal women turn to similar designers – and often the same ones.

It is true that the Spanish and Swedish are a little more relaxed than their British counterparts. 

But women from pretty much all the European monarchies find their styles match from time to time, as these pictures show…

Beulah London ‘Ahana’ Dress

Princess Beatrice and Sophie Winkleman wore the same Beulah London ‘Ahana Chambre’ dress, but in different colors to to The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving 

Both Princess Beatrice and Sophie Winkleman, who is wife to Lord Fredrick Windsor, turned up to The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving in 2022 in Beulah.

The design they chose was  ‘Ahana Chambre’ but in different colors.

Three years later, Princess Sofia of Sweden wore the very same dress, but styled differently with a sash and broaches, for a State Banquet in honour of South Korea’s presidential couple at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, South Korea.

Featuring a high neck top in the label’s signature floral crochet, plus a pleated skirt, it’s an ultra-elegant gown and suits the royal style down to the ground

The Vampire’s Wife 

The then Duchess of Cambridge wore a glittering gown from The Vampire's Wife for a tour of Guinness Storehouse in Dublin

Princess Beatrice wore the same dress for the wedding of Ellie Goulding and Casper Jopling in August 2019

Both Kate and Princess Beatrice looked glowing in the same dress.

The emerald dress by designer brand The Vampire’s Wife is made from iridescent silk-chiffon. It features a demure midi length, playful ruffle trim and metallic finish, which makes it ideal for any special occasion.

Kate wore the fitted green number for a tour of Guinness Storehouse in Dublin in 2020. Beatrice wore it for the wedding of popstar Ellie Goulding in August 2019.

Like mother, like daughter: Princess Isabella of Denmark borrowed a Max Mara matching blazer and trouser outfit previously worn by her mother five years apart

Princess Isabella of Denmark looked like the double of her mother, Princess Mary, in a white Max Mara blazer and matching trousers.

It isn’t uncommon that daughters borrow a few articles of clothing from their mother’s wardrobes, and clearly Princess Isabella is no stranger to doing so. 

The Princess wore the white ensemble  for her confirmation at Fredensborg Palace Church on April 30, 2022, while Queen Mary wore it for an engagement in Stockholm on May 29, 2017.

Both Princess Mary and Princess Charlene looked the picture of elegance in the Vilshenko gown that featured a delicate yet colourful floral design.

Charlene was the first of the two to wear the gown as she attended the annual traditional ‘Pique Nique Monegasque’ in Monaco in 2016, and a year later Mary was pictured in the same number in Tokyo.

The Princess of Wales was first spotted wearing the red Carolina Herrera coat while on a royal tour of Canada in 2016, but has been spotted wearing it again on numerous occasions.

And just one month later, Princess Sofia of Spain attended Spain’s National Day military parade on October 12, 2016 wearing the child-sized version of the stunning coat.

Having been one of Meghan Markle’s go-to-labels, Hugo Boss did not disappoint with their berry-shaded pencil skirt with its perfect blend of smart and edgy.

The Duchess of Sussex showed exactly how to nail the tonal-blocking trend as she stepped out to an event today dressed in red from head to toe.

Whereas just a day prior, Letizia put her fashionable spin on royal protocol pairing the luxe leather skirt with a classy white button-up blouse. 

Belulah London Spotted Dress 

The Princess of Wales appeared to take style cues from Denmark's Princess Mary - with Kate sporting a deep blue £525 Beulah London gown

The £525 blue gown was previously worn by Princess Mary of Denmark during a visit to Indonesia in December 2019

Not only do they share a sense of style, but royal fans often are pointing out how similar the two future Queens appear

They were dubbed unofficial ‘royal sisters’ by the late Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld thanks to their strikingly similar appearance and comparable taste in fashion.

So it’s perhaps no surprise that the Princess of Wales appeared to take style cues from Denmark’s Princess Mary again in 2020  – with Kate sporting a deep blue £525 Beulah London gown first spotted on the Australian-born royal a year prior.

Joining her husband Prince William on a visit to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn to mark the 72nd anniversary of the NHS, Kate teamed the outfit with matching heels and drop earrings.

Meanwhile, Mary paired cream heels and hooped earrings with the shirt dress – which features a striking white collar and blue polka dot pattern – during her trip to Indonesia in December 2019.

Jenny Packham has established herself as a favourite designer for royals wnt to make a statement

Jenny Packham’s gowns are a firm favorite among royals, especially the Princess of Wales. 

For the 2018 Tusk Conservation Awards, Kate recycled one of her older Jenny Packham dresses, having first wore it back in 2012. From the teal colour and pleated design to the lace detailing and belted waist, the designer dress established itself as  timeless.

Princess Madeleine of Sweden wore her own pale blue version of the classic dress to a gala in New York in the same number in October of 2013.
