Tina Turner was not just known for her hits, but also the ability to light up a room just by her outfit choice.
The star died on Wednesday aged 83 at her home in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland, but the contributions she made in both the fashion and music world will never be forgotten.
Aside from her famous denim jacket and, love of sparkles, her on-stage looks have been emulated countless times over the decades by stars such as Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

Bob Mackie, Tina’s longtime collaborator and designer, spoke to The Cut about some of the singer’s most famous looks.

Bob Mackie helped construct this look for Tina to mark her new carer as a solo performer
Mackie said he was designing Cher’s wardrobe for CBS’ The Sonny and Cher Show when Turner made an appearance in 1977 after filing for a divorce from her husband, Ike.
The designer was putting together the dress which resembled flames and he made an identical one for Tina, later adding bright orange feathers, which became very popular with the gay community in San Francisco.
Tina made the costume legendary, with other notable stars going on to request this outfit.
RuPaul wore the same dress for a calendar photo – with some height alterations – for a calendar photo.
American actress Lynda Carter wanted Mackie to re-create the bold dress – without the feathers – for a TV special where she performed one of Tina’s classic songs, Proud Mary.
Beyonce wore the same dress as Carter when she performed a Tina Turner tribute at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2005 in front of the singer herself.
Mackie also designed Tina’s silver winged look in the late 70s; an outfit that is widely thought of as one of the star’s most famous looks.
When Tina went solo and performed at hotel nightclubs and Caesars Palace, she wanted to change up her appearance to mark a new era in her life.

The angelic look had pleated lamé wings and fringe that was made from chain because Mackie did not think beaded trimming would hold Tina’s notoriously energetic shows.
Mackie told the publication: ‘It wasn’t like I was making a lot of money working with Tina Turner at that point, but just the fact that it was her was exciting.
‘There are a few performers in this world that have that quality that you want to do it for them. You don’t care if you get paid or not.’
When she moved around onstage, the wings would open up behind her, as if she was about to fly.
In fact, Tina wrote about this outfit in her memoir, That’s My Life, she said ‘I looked like I was about to take flight and soar – which was exactly how I felt about being on my own for the first time.’
Tina Turner won a Grammy for ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ in 1985 and also won record of the year for that song.
When many think of Tina, she is often wearing her blue denim jacket, sheer black tights and leather skirt – the same outfit she wore in that hit music video.
During one of her shows in Detroit that year, Tina opted to wear her now-signature look – but with fishnet tights instead.
She embodied elements of classic rock and roll, but mixed this with highly feminine accessories – such as black kitten heels, which she wore in the video.
