Tinder crashes leaving singletons unable to swipe right

Thousands of singletons are set to miss out on a Saturday night romance after online dating app Tinder went down.

The popular app, which has an estimated 50 million users per month in the UK, crashed leaving unlucky in love users unable to swipe left or right.

Smartphone users complained they were unable to log in to the app and speak to potential partners or send messages to matches already found.

According to the Down Detector website, people began reporting issues with the app just after 8pm.  

Social media users flocked to Twitter to bemoan the apps problems with one person writing: 'Now Tinder is down...The universe really wants me to leave the house today.'

It said half the reports complained of server connection issues while 40 per cent of users were unable to log in.

While others said they were unable to send or receive messages.

There were some 78 reports of Tinder crashing as of 9.30pm.
