‘Tinder for threesomes’ app Feeld helps match ‘thrupples’ looking for polyamorous sex

A London duo are shaking up the dating world with their alternative app which helps couples find attractive singletons to have threesomes with.

Graphic designers Dimo Trifonov and Ana Kirova are the creators of the app Feeld, for individuals and partners looking to join or have a ménage à trois.

Feeld is for those wanting to ‘explore their desires and join solo or pair up with a partner, a lover or a curious friend’.

From its launch in 2014 the app now has more than three millions users worldwide hoping for some ‘thruppling’ action, with the majority aged 25-34. London has the most active members in the UK, ahead of Bristol and Glasgow.

Dimo and Ana, who are in a relationship, told MailOnline they created the app ‘as much for other people as for themselves’, after Ana realised she was attracted to another woman.

Initially set up as the ‘threesome app’, ‘Thrinder’, it got off to a rocky start when it was threatened with a lawsuit by Tinder because of the similarity in brand name.

It was re branded Feeld – as in, ‘playing the..’ – and there are now 12,000 connections made on the app every day, with an average of 100,000 messages sent.

Users can even invite their crush to join the app, in the hope they will be game for a fling.

Dimo and Ana run the business alongside their team which includes events manager Cathy Keen, a former sex worker in a relationship with her husband and his girlfriend.

Cathy, who joined Feeld two years ago, is an advocate for ‘sex positivity, consensual non-monogamous relationship structures and the legitimacy of sex work.’

Cathy, who worked as a lap dancer for 16 years, was born in Manchester but grew up in Yeovil, Somerset and is the daughter of devout Christian parents.

She said she and her husband of eight years ‘both identify as queer and see other people; separately and sometimes together.’

Ana told MailOnline how the idea for Feeld was hatched and the demand for a sexually liberating app designed for partners looking to experiment.

Ana said: ‘[Dino and I] were already in a relationship and very happy together when I met a woman I felt really attracted to. I wasn’t sure what to make of it because my feelings for Dimo were still the same, yet I couldn’t stop thinking about this girl.

‘I was afraid I’m falling in love, without falling out of love with Dimo. I didn’t want to conceal this from him, so I wrote him a letter confessing how I felt.

‘He was so touched and understanding and we decided to experience this change in our relationship together.

‘There was no place for people like us who wanted to explore something outside the accepted monogamous norm, so Dimo made Feeld as an experiment.

‘There were so many people excited and thankful for it that we had to make it happen.

‘With Feeld we realised there were so many people who don’t feel comfortable or ‘fit’ in existing platforms. Feeld was a place for them to feel normal, to explore their sexuality and relationships and to meet open-minded people like them.’

The app allows users to join as a single or pair with a couple. Users can choose from more than 20 sexualities and more than 20 gender identities, ‘opening up space to communicate one’s identity beyond the binary.’

People are invited to lists their interests – from music and design to art – alongside their desires (such as preferred power dynamics and relationship structures).

Ana added: ‘The reason we offer the option to list these side by side is to normalise desires as part of one’s larger personality. This helps to build a more honest and welcoming community, where one feels accepted and free to express and pursue their curiosities.

‘The feedback we get from our community keeps us going so passionately – the liberating experience on Feeld, the refreshing honesty and openness of the community, the ability to experiment with small first steps in a safe space.’

The founders says more recently, they have seen a rise in new members ‘identifying with sexualities beyond heterosexual.’

Ana added: ‘We want to grow the community and reach new humans, connect more like-minded humans and be the go-to place for people who don’t feel welcome in and inspired by other platforms.

‘We offer different paths for self-discovery in a positive space.’

Feeld recently launched a unique referral program where people can anonymously invite their crush to join.
