Today show’s Karl Stefanovic has made his acting debut alongside a star-studded cast for Stan’s Original Series C*A*U*G*H*T.

And the 49-year-old has now revealed what it was like working alongside American actor and director Sean Penn.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia at the show’s premiere in Sydney on Wednesday, the TV presenter said it was ‘amazing’ working alongside the Hollywood legend.

‘It was amazing. He was right there next to the camera and watched me deliver all my lines,’ Karl said.

‘I actually got a bit emotional and thought “holy s**t that’s Sean Penn.”‘

Karl then recalled how the actor looked at him jokingly before shaking his head and walking out during filming.

The Nine star also revealed whether he is considering an actor career following his debut.

‘I think it’s great to see Australian productions and Kick [Gurry] is a freakish talent comedically and I was chuffed to have a ride, he said.
