‘Overslept big time,’ she wrote on her Stories, alongside a selfie that showed her makeup-less in the car. ‘It’s 6:34am and I’m still in the car.’

As she walked into the building, Today’s radio program director Holly Palmieri Schulz captured her, exclaiming ‘Oh Savannah!’

‘I know, I can’t even. I know,’ the host replied, while rushing to get into her dressing room.

She then shared a clip that showed makeup artist Edmi De jesús and hairstylist Kelly O’Neill working quickly to get her glammed up in time for the 7am show.

She video featured Kelly using a blow-dryer and big, round brush to shape her blonde locks, while Edmi blended foundation into her cheeks as fast as she could.

‘Miracle workers,’ Savannah wrote in the video, adding that it was 6:40am at that point.

It took only 14 minutes for the pair to complete Savannah’s on-air look, and by 6:54am she was walking onto the stage ready to go.

‘This is a miracle,’ she joked as she joined her fellow hosts in front of the cameras. ‘I’m gonna make it!’

‘I can’t believe it,’ she said in a second video, to which Craig added, ‘It’s amazing.’

During the show, Craig couldn’t help but pick on Savannah for her tardiness. After noting that Hoda had taken the day off, he added to Savannah, ‘You almost had the morning off as well.’

He then told the viewers, ‘Savannah Guthrie rolled in about 15 minutes ago. She overslept. She is normal.’

’15 minutes ago with no hair, no makeup. It was a terrifying sight,’ she joked. ‘But some miracle workers upstairs rolled me in and I’m very happy to be here.’

She noted that she was a ‘big ole mess’ just minutes before going on the air, with Sheinelle adding that the hosts don’t often run late.

Afterwards, she revealed that her husband, Michael Feldman, sent her a text saying, ‘You made it AND you look hot.’

‘Nomination for husband of the year,’ she gushed on her Stories. ‘My schmoopie @feldmike.’

This isn’t the first time Savannah has kept it real on the air. Back in March, she wore a pair of fuzzy slippers on the show after she stubbed her toe so hard she thought she broke it.

It turns out, it was just sprained, but she certainly enjoyed wearing the comfy shoes.

‘Sprained toe silver lining – doing the show in slippers. I may never go back,’ she joked on Instagram afterwards.

Earlier this month, she also revealed that she accidentally had worn her shirt backwards the entire time she was on the air.

‘Realizing you wore your shirt backwards all morning,’ she wrote on social media, alongside a selfie that showed her top’s tag in the front. ‘#Monday.’

She also once wore a dress the wrong way in 2020, and couldn’t help but make fun of herself for it.

‘I have to point out, I’m sorry, sometimes when you get dressed in the morning – you all know this – things get backwards,’ she said during the show.
