Today Show reporter Natalia Cooper ran away from a man she was interviewing on live TV on Monday after he spurted out a surprisingly inappropriate response to her inquiries about his Australia Day celebrations.
Ms Cooper was handing out $50 notes to commuters in Parramatta, west of Sydney, to help ease the hassle of train delays when she approached the tradesman sitting on a bench.
The reporter handed him the cash so he could ‘top up his Opal card’ before asking the young man how he celebrated the Australia Day long weekend.

‘What did you get up to?’ Ms Cooper continued.
‘Punched a few cones,’ the man responds, alluding to smoking marijuana.
‘Oh wow ok, well just leave you there ok,’ the agape Today Show reporter said as she quickly darted away from the man.
When asked why he had a good time, the tradesman responded: ‘Punched a few cones’
