Today Show’s Brooke Boney kicks off her Oxford University studies after stepping down from Nine in major career change

Brooke Boney shared an exciting life update to social media on Friday, revealing she has officially moved to England is beginning her studies at Oxford University.

The TV presenter, 37, left the Today Show last month after five years and revealed her plans to move abroad to study Masters of Public Policy at prestigious Oxford University.

Now, Brooke has confirmed her exciting new life is well underway as she posted a gallery of precious photos to Instagram along with some exciting words.

Alongside a snap of her beaming while sitting in the backseat of a car going to her first day at university, Brooke gushed: ‘Well, that’s been a fun month off.

‘Time to start studying now. Checking into college today to start uni on Monday.’

She also shared a sweet selfie of her rocking her best angles in an elevator as she wheeled her luggage into the esteemed St Antony’s College.

Brooke could not contain her excitement at her enormous life change, writing, ‘eeeek’ alongside the photo.

Last month, Brooke became teary-eyed as she was given an emotional farewell on the Channel Nine breakfast show, ahead of her moving to England for her studies.

The news and entertainment reporter was given flowers from her colleagues as she gave a heartfelt statement live on-air.

‘I’d like to say thank you to the audience for accepting me. I’m grateful to every one of you for tuning in every day,’ Brooke began.

‘It’s a privilege to go over to Oxford, but it is even more of one that I have got this much love around me. It makes it difficult to leave.’

The veteran presenter added her appointment on the show was a huge milestone for Indigenous Australians, and thanked the team for taking a chance on her. 

‘Today was the first breakfast show in the country to put an Aboriginal person on as a full time host. Now it is a very normal thing to do in this time slot, and I’m proud of that.’

In March, Boney broke down in tears when she announced her resignation live on air in March, sharing her exciting studying plans. 

Channel Nine later confirmed that Jayne Azzopardi, who co-hosts Weekend Today with Clint Stanaway, will be Boney’s replacement.
