Today’s Karl Stefanovic is left in stitches and calls Scott Cam a ‘bloody legend’ as he laughs off his awkward wardrobe malfunction on The Block

Eagle-eyed viewers of The Block noticed this week that host Scott Cam had a rather unfortunate wardrobe malfunction when his zipper was undone for several scenes.

And the 58-year-old brushed off the gaffe during an interview with Karl Stefanovic and Sylvia Jeffreys on the Today show on Tuesday.

Karl, 47, called Scott a ‘bloody legend’ as he cracked a few jokes about the incident.

‘Bloody legend’: Today host Karl Stefanovic (left, with Sylvia Jeffreys) chuckled on Tuesday as The Block host Scott Cam laughed off his unfortunate wardrobe malfunction

‘You had a bit of a zipper issue the other night. Can you explain what happened?’ Sylvia Jeffreys began, being a stand in host for Ally Langdon on the show on Tuesday.

‘My grandfather used to say to me when I was a young bloke, “do you have a licence to sell hot dogs?” And I said “no, why?” He said, “well, your stand’s open,” Scotty began.

‘My cameraman and executive producer came up to me, we’d done about 10 minutes or eight minutes into the Sunday night studio session and he said, “your fly’s down.” I went, “ah jeez,” Scotty said.

He added he decided not to start again as ‘someone will get a laugh out of that’.

Karl and Scotty then began cracking some cheeky jokes.

There’s the old saying, “you cannot hand a man a greater spanner,” Karl quipped.

‘That’s debatable, Karl… I’ve got a million of those!’ Scotty shot back.

He added: ‘Dead men don’t fall out of windows.’

Having a laugh: Scotty said that producers told him his fly was undone and asked if he wanted to reshoot the scenes but he decided not to. 'Dead men don't fall out of windows,' Scotty told Karl on Today on Tuesday

Karl cracked up and as he closed the chat, finished: ‘You’re a funny man, one of the great presenters… bloody legend!’

On The Block on Sunday, eagle-eyed viewers noticed Scotty accidentally left his fly undone as he gave the contestants the judges’ feedback during room reveals.

‘Scotty Cam at his finest… fly undone and all #TheBlock,’ one viewer tweeted at the time.

Another added: ‘Did anyone else notice that Scotty’s fly is undone?’

‘Did the editors not see Scotty’s fly undone?’ another remarked.

On Sunday, Josh and Luke, 27, got shockingly low scores for their living room.

The twins received a disastrous score of just eight points out of 30, making it one of the lowest results in Block history.
