The controversy surrounding I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Bernard Tomic continues to heat up.
After sensationally walking away from the jungle just days into the competition, Bernard took aim at his detractors – including fellow tennis player Lleyton Hewitt.
And on Thursday, the Today show host Karl Stefanovic responded to the situation, slamming Bernard as ‘annoying’.

Lleyton had previously said that it was ‘unlikely’ Bernard would play in the Davis Cup following his dramatic exit from I’m A Celebrity.
Then, in an interview on The Project on Wednesday, Bernard dismissed his remarks by saying: ‘I don’t care what Lleyton said. I never lost to him.’
Taking issue with Bernard’s disparaging comments towards Lleyton, Karl didn’t hold back on his breakfast show.

‘He is so annoying… so annoying,’ Karl fumed.
‘Lleyton Hewitt was No. 1 in the world. Bernie, you never got there, weren’t good enough and you aren’t.’
Karl added: ‘Respect Lleyton. (Bernard) goes on and on, I don’t want to hear from him anymore. Can you do your talking on the court rather than off?’

Concerns had been raised about Bernard’s well-being during his short-lived stint on I’m A Celebrity, after the sports star said he was feeling ‘depressed’.
‘Half the time during the day, I’m just depressed,’ Bernard told fellow contestant Jackie Gillies earlier in the week.
‘I’ve never really had time to think about my thoughts. I’ve always had people around, my mobile phone… everything was so fast-paced.’
But Karl appeared to have little sympathy for the tennis player’s emotional state.
‘With respect, if he has got something that is not quite going well for him he should get help for it,’ he said.
‘Everyone should be encouraged to do that. But it’s continually coming out and bagging people who have made it, actually done it and achieved, it’s just too much.’
