A toddler just weeks away from his first birthday has died after being run over by a reversing car while he was playing on a driveway north of Brisbane.
Emergency services found the baby boy in a critical condition when they arrived at the Deception Bay home at about 10.15am on Monday.
The infant is understood to have suffered serious head injuries in the collision.
The baby’s grandmother Carolyn Glenn said her son and the baby’s mother had traveled to the Redcliffe Hospital with paramedics.
‘I’m just numb,’ Ms Glenn told the Courier Mail.
‘You see this stuff happen to other families, I can’t believe it’s happened to us.’

The baby’s aunt said the little boy had been about to celebrate his first birthday.
Stuffed toys have been placed on the driveway of the George Street residence.
Deception Bay, in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region, is 30km north of Brisbane.
