Toddler fighting for life after being struck down by a car

A toddler is in a critical condition after being struck down by a car in South Australia.

The 23-month-old girl was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after being hit by the car on Tasman Terrace – the main commercial street of Port Lincoln – at about 5.30pm on Thursday.

The little girl was airlifted to Adelaide for further treatment on Thursday night. 

A crash investigation is currently underway and police say the driver is cooperating.
