Rescue divers pulled the three-year-old boy out of the pond and transported him to a local hospital, where he then died, according to WPTV.

Meadow Lakes residents said that there had not been any previous incidents of this nature in the past.

The toddler and his sister used to play in neighbor Pamela Chimera’s garage, she told WPTV. She noted that they were ‘Loving, caring children’ and called the family ‘wonderful.’

Authorities are investigating what led to the boy’s disappearance. They have not released the name of the boy or his family.
