Tom Brady is absolutely loving life in retirement, judging by his latest Instagram post.

The 45-year-old has shared a video of him having the time of his life on the beach with friends and family, where he can be seen playing football, golf and jet skiing along the sea.

‘Grateful to have the chance to celebrate such an amazing life on and off the field with friends and family.’

He added: ‘Even more grateful to get through 30 minutes of beach football with no serious injuries’ and posted three crying with laughter emojis next to it.

Brady posted a video back in late March of his vacation on the beach alongside his son Jack and former teammate Julian Edelman. The video posted Wednesday appears to be from the same occasion.

The video shows Brady cutting a cake that has the No 12 – the number synonymous with his career – while friends and family cheer and congratulate him on his time in football.

Brady has been known to follow a notoriously strictly diet but perhaps now he has stepped away from the game, he may allow himself an occasional slice of cake.

Brady retired – for a second time – in February after 23 seasons and an iconic career that saw him win the Super Bowl an amazing seven times.

His final season in NFL was somewhat overshadowed by his divorce from his wife of 13 years, the Brazilian Super Model Gisele Bundchen. There were ongoing suggestions she was unhappy at his ‘unretiring’ last year.

In his statement at the time last October Brady  said it had been a ‘difficult’ and ‘painful’ decision that the pair reached after ‘much consideration’ while Gisele, 42, said: ‘To end a marriage is never easy… we have grown apart.’

But now he appears to be living his best life with his friends and family gathered around him in the sunshine.

While Brady, in his retirement video this year, insisted he is stepping away from the game for good there have still been rumors that he could make an improbable return.

But at the beginning of March, he shot the talk down with an amusing reply on Twitter: ‘Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2 month old kitten for their daughter.’

Brady had two children with Bundchen – a son, Benjamin, and daughter Vivian. His oldest son Jack was from a past relationship with the actress Bridget Moynahan.

Brady’s final game was in January, when his Tampa Bay Buccaneers team lost against Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs.

That game was played on January 16 but it wasn’t until February 1 that Brady announced on Instagram that he was going to quit.

”Good morning guys. I’ll get to the point right away. I’m retiring, for good,’ Brady said in his emotional statement. ‘I know the process was a pretty big deal last time so when I woke up this morning I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first.

‘It won’t be long-winded. You only get one super emotional retirement essay and I used mine up last year, so… really, thank you guys so much to every single one of you for supporting me.

‘My family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors. I could go over forever, there’s too many. Thank you guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn’t change a thing. Love you all.’

His ex-wife commented on the post, saying: ‘Wishing you only wonderful things in this new chapter of your life.’
