Tom Brady’s ex-teammate Drew Bledsoe hilariously roasts NFL legend over Fox broadcast debut – months after Gisele Bundchen divorce joke

Former New England Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe had delivered his verdict on Tom Brady’s NFL broadcasting debut – before it’s even begun.

Brady, 47, is set to start his $375million analyst contract with Fox this season after taking a well-earned year off following his retirement from the NFL for a second time last year.

Bledsoe, who was replaced by Brady as Bill Belichick’s starter over two decades ago, gave a flattering, if not hilarious, prediction on how the Hall of Famer will fare live on air.

‘I know that Tommy will work it to death,’ Bledsoe said when asked about Brady’s upcoming first season as an NFL color commentator on Good Morning Football.

However, the former quarterback couldn’t resist taking a sly swipe at his former teammate.

‘I will get kind of tired of his squeaky ass voice, but I know he’ll do a great job calling the games,’ Bledsoe joked.

Bledsoe also likened the seven-time Super Bowl winner to past and present iconic NFL analysts such as Tony Romo.

‘It’s the guys that do the work that are great at it and it’s really that simple when you look at it,’ he added.

‘You look at Aikman. You look at Romo. I mean everyone looks at Romo like he’s predicting the future. Well, he went to practice and he saw what they ran from that formation and that’s what they did.’

Bledsoe’s little quip at Brady’s expense comes five months after he joined a host of former players, comedians and celebrities at Netflix’s roast of Brady.

A lot of the ruthless material contained jokes about his divorce from Gisele Bundchen, 43, after 13 years of marriage, including one from Bledsoe.

Bledsoe, who weathered his fair share of digs about the quarterback replacing him in New England,  took aim at the divorce.

‘Obviously buddy, you got really used to not being touched,’ Bledsoe said when referencing Brady’s football career.

He then added: ‘Just like the end of the marriage.’

The joke drew a huge gasp from the audience at Kia Forum as an awkward Brady raised his eyebrows and took swigs of two different drinks.

Brady and Bundchen — who share two kids together, son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11 — divorced on October 28, 2022, after 13 years of marriage.

According to People, Bundchen was left fuming at the jokes about her and Brady’s former marriage during the special, saying she ‘was deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening’s roast show’.

‘As always, [Bundchen’s] priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted,’ the insider went on.

Brady is set to make $37.5million annually as part of his broadcasting deal with Fox.

The deal lasts 10 years and should see him pocket at least $375million.

And his return to his and Bledsoe’s former stomping ground was seemingly confirmed last week.

During last Thursday night’s preseason game in Foxborough, Scott Zolak talked with Jason and Devin McCourty about Brady and let it slip another homecoming is in the cards for Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins.
