Tom Brady’s face on crossing signs to slow down drivers

A teacher grew so frustrated with cars speeding through through an elementary school zone in Boston that he decided to use the Patriots quarterback to keep his students safe.

Sam Balto, a physical education teacher at Ellis Elementary School, put two laminated cutouts of Tom Brady’s head on pedestrian crossing signs outside the Roxbury school.

After spending months watching drivers blatantly ignore the flashing yellow lights and visible speed limit signs, Balto took matters into his own hands.

‘Unfortunately, those signs get run over on a daily basis. Maybe if Tom Brady was on the School X-ing sign drivers might pay more attention, slow down & yield for students at crosswalks,’ Balto tweeted.

Together with WalkBoston, Balto launched the experiment on Wednesday.

‘He is so good looking. Cars will have to slow down for him,’ Balto tweeted.

‘This is Boston, and Tom Brady is a champion and a leader. And when Tom Brady is getting sacked, [Bill] Belichick makes sure he changes the plays and improves safety for him,’ Balto said to the Boston Globe.

Balto and a spokesperson for WalkBoston have said their experiment appears to be working

‘If the Pats make moves for safety for Brady not to get sacked, I hope this can improve the safety of our students crossing the street.’

Several months ago, Balto spotted a car going 56mph in the 20mph zone, according to CBS Boston.

So far, the experiment seems to be working.

Balto and a spokesperson for WalkBoston have noticed cars visibly slowing down to look at the pictures of Brady.

‘Did it work? Yes, absolutely,’ Brendan Kearney with WalkBoston said to the Globe. ‘Also we need a smile, everybody needs to put a smile on their face. Tom Brady is one good-looking guy.’

They have started a Twitter campaign to #PutABradyOnIt.
