Tom Burgess is CLEARED by the NRL despite inflicting ‘disgusting’ low blow on Bulldogs rival in South Sydney’s dominant win on Good Friday

Tom Burgess has avoided punishment for his ‘grub act’ after fans spotted the Rabbitohs star inflicting a low blow on his Canterbury rival on Friday night.

Latrell Mitchell stole the show at Accor Stadium as he grabbed a hat-trick to help Jason Demetriou’s side to a dominant victory over their NRL rivals on Good Friday.

But eagle-eyed fans spotted a ‘grub act’ from the English forward committed 12 minutes into the second half, when he left Bulldogs star Josh Reynolds in a heap after appearing to squeeze his private parts with his left arm.

Referee Gerard Sutton did not see the incident despite protestations from Reynolds, nor did the Bunker review it, and Burgess’s act went unpunished.

And now the NRL has confirmed that no charges have been issued for any player competing in last night’s contest at Accor Stadium, meaning Burgess is in the clear.

Yet he has not won favour with NRL fans on social media, who were quick to condemn the 30-year-old.

‘Funny most of the time Tom Burgess can’t hold onto balls,’ one fan posted. ‘What a grub.’

‘Already had the ball. Decided he had to grab two more,’ another said.

‘What an absolute grub act this was from Burgess,’ a third fan added.

It is not yet clear whether the incident will be investigated by the judiciary.
