Tom Cruise brought tears of joy to a mother’s eyes during his appearance on The Tonight Show on Monday.

The 62-year-old superstar was fresh off another kind act when he gave a member of the late-night talk show’s audience the surprise of a lifetime.

Tom — who attended the New York premiere of the latest Mission: Impossible film on Sunday — was as game as ever when he first joined host Jimmy Fallon for what initially seemed like a simple — but funny — game.

The two were seated facing each other on a revolving dais so that they could perform a hilariously bizarre guessing game called What’s Behind Me.

Jimmy and Tom alternated giving hints at ridiculous displays on screen behind them that had almost certainly never been spoken aloud before, including three Bruce Springsteens surfing in France, a high school prom dance featuring the Terminator and a Minion slow-dancing, and Lady Gaga and Batman building IKEA furniture at home.

But when it was Tom’s final turn to give the clues, Jimmy switched up the segment by bringing up a shocked audience member to try guessing what was behind her.

The revelation, which left her overcome with emotion, was that her son who was deployed in Europe had been flown in for a surprise reunion, with Tom facilitating the moving connection.

When Shontavia from Buffalo, New York, was introduced, she received a round of applause from the audience after sharing that she has a history of service after working at a community center to help people get signed up for health insurance.

She unknowingly hinted at what her surprise would be when she mentioned that her children have all moved away, and her son Bruce was in the military and had been stationed in Europe for the past two years.

As the platform began to rotate, Shontavia confessed, ‘I’m bad at charades.’

‘It’s you and me!’ Tom said to relax her as he gestured up at his eyes.

But as the curtain opened, it revealed her son — in the flesh — as he stood in his white uniform while holding a bouquet of flowers intended for his mother, which elicited cheers from the audience.

Tom wisely fed Bruce’s mother the least meaningful clues to start, getting her to guess ‘flowers’ and ‘New York City,’ before working his way up to the final clue that would give it all away: ‘son.’

The Mission: Impossible star tried to have her recite the entire clue at the end, to which she came up with ‘Flowers, grown in New York City, with a son?’

‘You did it!’ Tom cried out as the platform began to rotate, letting Shontavia see her son for what may have been the first time in two years.

Bruce stepped down from the stage to give his mother her flowers and a long, swaying hug, while Tom and Jimmy beamed at them.

Even though Bruce was in the presence of one of the biggest stars in the world, he ignored Tom and sweetly focused all his attention on his sobbing mother.

‘We flew him in all the way to surprise you!’ Jimmy shouted over the audience’s cheers and clapping.

‘That’s for you, mom,’ Fallon said of the flowers.

‘He looks good, right?’ he added, before thanking Bruce for his service.

In that moment, Shontavia’s son got an approving pat on the back from one of the biggest stars in the world, but he didn’t even turn to look at him as he kept his eyes laser-focused on his mother.

The day before, Tom performed a more low-key act of generosity when he gave employees at the AMC Lincoln Square theater some face time during the New York premiere of Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning.

Tom was seen in a post by the film critic Mike Ryan, who revealed that he stopped by the table with complimentary drinks and popcorn to chat with the employees for ’15 minutes now.’

A few minutes later he posted a follow-up photo, adding, ‘He’s still going.’

In a third post, Ryan added that Tom’s kind moment with the employees wasn’t even intended to be a photo op.

‘So also for anyone wondering: we weren’t supposed to see this,’ he explained. ‘We had already seen the movie so we came for a little fun pre-event thing, then we stayed for the intro, then quietly snuck out and stumbled upon this scene.’
